Dump Truck Rollover Accident Cleanup & Upright Tacoma WA

August 6, 2011. Tacoma, WA. Excessive speed was the cause of this rollover accident. The dump truck driver took the Portland Ave exit from SR 512, flipping the truck into the south bound lane of Portland Ave while trying to turn north bound onto Portland. A very visible skid mark was visible from the ramp to the vehicles resting place. The impact ejected the load of gravel that was being hauled creating a nice mess which was quickly cleaned up. Diesel and oil spilled from the ruck but was contained. I believe this was non injury. Central Pierce Fire and Rescue did respond. The Washington State Patrol investigated the accident and WSDOT Incident Response Team assisted. This had the potential to be a very ugly event. Glad that it wasn't
